HE'S BACK! MUAHAHAHA.

*Cue Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries*

It feels really good to be able to look at a screen without having my eyes falling out of their sockets. No, my laptop is still half dead (in fact, it's gotten even worse) and I'm this close to giving up on Dell's customer service. I'd blog about the latest development but I don't want to spoil my mood this beautiful morning.

Anyway. I'm temporarily using Lai Kuan's computer, and the 2 weeks I spent with the crazy screen has sort of made me appreciate the simple things, as far as computers are concerned. I was so happy to get a colored screen that didn't have streaks all over it that I didn't even bother to "pop the hood" to see what kind of power this machine's packing. I'm even HAPPY to be using a CRT screen, though I'd be HAPPIER to change it to an LCD soon. It's just taking up way too much space on my tiny desk. And it looks ugly, though aesthetics are really the last thing on my mind now.

It's a crazy morning - I'm rushing to restore all the emails and files I backed up, and get back on track with 2 week's worth of work. I'm quite proud of myself - within the space of a few hours I managed to restore almost everything, down to the settings I used in my laptop. I think I can start giving workshops soon. Recovering From System Crashes 101 (aka 101 ways to cry and feel sorry for yourself)

Oh and it's budget review day which means a mad day of looking and relooking through the proposed budget, making sure we don't miss anything out. I have this feeling that how well planned this budget is will have some impact on how smooth my ride in the ministry is going to be come the next financial year.

Ok, I've just finished downloading MSN. Oh beautiful white text box. Has it been only 2 weeks since I last saw you? It really felt like 2 years.

My day off's tommorrow, and Thurs is a public holiday. I wonder how I'm going to survive without a computer for 2 days - in fact I'm actually tempted to come back to work tommorrow. I dunno. Maybe it's time to get reacquainted with my old friend, cable TV.
