Now this is pretty unexpected. With the new rookies in my branch taking all the arrows, I'm suddenly left with no official duties to perform. I literally come to work everyday just to warm my seat. It's so boring that it's actually quite painful, especially when I think of how I have to do this for the next three months, courtesy of having next to zero leave to clear. Being lethargic and yet unable to sleep openly in the office doesn't help either. I miss Mindef.

With the ban on playing dota and CS being enforced rather strictly, I've resorted to playing Hexic on MSN. What started as a lame bet with my buddy has turned into an obsession. And since he's got more work than I do, it's gonna be a long while before he breaks my high score. This is where I laugh in some evil, maniacal way.

And as part of my anti boredom campaign, I surfed around Wikipedia for abit and I soon started reading about some really cruel forms of punishments used through the ages. I think the Bible was pretty literal when it talked about people being "sawn asunder" in Hebrews 11:37. Supposedly they really did saw people into half in those days. I'll quote Wikipedia: "Since the condemned was hanging upside-down, the brain received a continuous blood supply in spite of severe bleeding. The victim would remain alive and conscious until the saw severed the major blood vessels of the abdomen, and sometimes even longer. "

Gruesome, I tell you. It seems that Isaiah the prophet was matyred this way but I can't say if there's any truth in that.

And there's more that I'd rather not blog about. No point in making everybody lose their appetite (Although I did kinda enjoy lunch nonetheless). Mankind got pretty creative in devising ways to punish criminals. Think boredom does that to some people.
