My perfect record's gone. On Sat I reversed the car too quickly and went straight into some low ledge that I didn't see in my mirrors. Ended up with a really big dent in the rear bumper of the car and a really shaken passenger (sorry Amelia!).

The next morning, after my dad went to look at the car -
Me: "Erhm...I'm really sorry about that bumper. "
Dad: "No lar it's ok. Not very serious what."

NOT VERY SERIOUS? The right side of the bumper was sticking out! There was a dent so big it could fit a rugby ball! NOT SERIOUS??? Amazingly the only complaint my dad had was that now everybody on the road would look at the car and think that he's a lousy driver. Guess we now know where my ego comes from eh?

Anyway, as I expected, my parents wouldn't let me pay for the repairs but I was pretty determined this time and managed to reach some sort of compromise. Thankfully we didn't have to replace the bumper. Apparently the workshop could knock it back into shape and repaint the whole bumper so we only paid about 380 bucks instead of the 700 odd I was expecting.

And to my despair, I didn't get scolded at all. Not even a single harsh word. Not that I enjoy being scolded but I spoilt the rear of the car. And instead of getting some form of punishment, my parents are joking about it and insisting on footing the bill themselves? You can't believe how much the guilt is messing me up. But then again ever since I finished sec school, my parents have had a tendency to let guilt do the disciplining for them.

Tip of the day - Never laugh at your friends when they knock their cars. Cos when it's your turn they'll be laughing even louder. Only 1 driver left in my unit who hasn't knocked up his car yet. We're still waiting.
