More renovation fun yesterday! We removed all the hard disks from the condemned coms (60 coms in all!) and as per the current security directives, we had to make sure there was no way of recovering the data from the hard disks. Apparently no matter how you delete stuff it can never be completely removed from the hard disk, so the best way would be to destroy it. Physically.

You cannot believe the therapeutic qualities of smashing something apart with a hammer. Fact of the day: it takes about 12 hits to turn a hard disk into an unrecognisable mess of metal alloys and circuitry. So there we were, taking turns, happily smashing up one hard disk after another. After about 10 hard disks the hammer finally lost and the head dropped off the handle. Somebody's gonna have to buy the Chief Clerk a new hammer this weekend. With another 50 hard disks to go, I'm actually looking forward to going to work on Monday.

Our smash fest continued with some old condemned drawers. We were supposed to check that there was nothing classified in those drawers which were unfortunately (or fortunately) locked. With the hammer broken and no drill available, we brought out the screwdrivers and started prying apart the drawers. Think it would have been alot more fun if we had a chainsaw or blowtorch. No hidden treasures found in those drawers though.

Branch outing today. Lunched at Pariss, some "high class looking" seafood buffet. The so called "fresh seafood" wasn't as fresh as I prefered them to be but I loved the desserts. The cheesecake especially. And that fountain of chocolate that you could dip marshmellows into. If our big boss weren't there we'd probably have carried the fountain back to our table. Chocolate coated seafood, anyone?

Got thrashed at Percussion Freaks. I just can't seem to translate the falling blips on screen into what I'm supposed to be hitting. It's kinda insulting that a guitarist can actually play better than I do. Then again, he does blast jap music all day on his com , so the songs are all 2nd nature to this joker.

Another long day tommorrow.
